R&D Machinist

Newton is looking for an entry level machinist/programmer for R&D/production work. The ideal applicant must be able to quickly adapt to changes due to the nature of R&D and work directly with engineers. This is a fulltime position working from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

An Ideal Candidate:

o Must have experience with FANUC and HAAS controller.

o Must have machine shop experience with a good solid work history.

o Must be proficient in the setup and operations of three-axis CNC machining centers with all types of materials.

o Be able to operate a manual lathe, manual drill press, grinders, etc.

o Must understand G and M code and be able to program using MasterCam X8.

o Must have the ability to set up and run operations independently.

o Must understand mechanical concepts.

o Must be able to accurately machine first article parts and provide feedback for discrepancies to the shop manager.

o Must be able to interpret and use information from drawings, blueprints and three-dimensional files as they relate to the CNC production and inspection of various parts.

o Must possess good problem solving skills and the ability to provide tooling and fixturing, and process input in order to continuously improve production performance.

o Has the ability to work weekends and overtime as needed. Able to lift and maneuver materials, tools, and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

o Pays excellent attention to detail.

o Is dependable and resourceful.
